May 31st 2011 - How to Kill a Zombie w/ Your Good Friend Jeb!
May 30, 2011 - Our Actual Last Day!
To wrap this beast once and for all, Daniel, Ky, Tim, Spencer, Tom, and Kevin met early in New London. A short rainstorm set our schedule back and our energy low. But we trucked on, first with a green screen reshoot in Spencer's apartment. Then we filmed Ky's protestor scene, a quick scene of people running down the sidewalk, and some B-roll exteriors. Next we headed to Crown Pizza so Tim could throw a boombox around and to Maggie's for a quick exterior shot with Tom and Kevin. Daniel, Tom, and Ky took some shots at the Air Line Trail and the Lyman Viaduct in Colchester. Last, we headed to Tim's neighbors' place to shoot the last establishing shot. To end the day, dinner and lots of amazing garlic bread at Captain's. WOOHOO!
May 29, 2011 - Exterior Insert
After realizing we needed an additional establishing shot, former extras Tommy Broadbent and Nancy Ferrante came back to help us out.
May 15th 2011 - Allison thinks she is the last person on Earth, is she?
May 11, 2011 - Church of the Bitten
Our friends at DayDream Theatre Company allowed us use Bell St. Chapel for a scene. Thomas Landry made a scary zombie and Ky's friend Bruce Church made a very convincing pastor. It only took a few hours to get the scene looking the way we wanted, with an amusing performance by Ky's little cousin Madison.
May 8, 2011 - The Senator's Address
This morning we had our friend Sonya Joyner to act as a Senator giving a speech. Sonya did a great job and it was a very quick shoot.
May 3rd 2011 - Hospital News Footage
April 30, 2011 - Cooking Show and Panic Shots
Glenn Shea gave a very impressive and highly amusing performance. We also shot a quick scene with Daniel's Dad, Randi and some of his employees.
April 1, 2011 - The Streets of Worcester
Late this evening Dan and Ky headed up to Worcester, MA, where a small snowstorm had hit. Our friends and talented actors Diana Maxfield and Ed Higgins braved the snow and cold at 4am with us so we could complete yet another scene for the opening of the film. There was a lot of waiting around for cars to pass, snow to fall, and people to walk by, but we finally got the deserted streets look we were hoping for.
April 18, 2011 - This Safe Fort
Today we had Eric Eastman on set. Daniel and Tim took Eric to shoot various clips of the barrier wall's construction. Eric was very creative and we appreciated his ability to jump into the character and make the scene his own.

November 12th, 2010 - We Finished...Almost
Principal photography is complete! After only 18 days of principal photography, we are finished! The cast did an excellent job and we were all really impressed with how into-it Kevin's Mom, Cynthia Killavey, was as a parishioner.
There at the end was Kevin, Sammi and Cat... and Richard Tretheway. :-)
October 24, 2010 - A Little B&E
Back to the El N' Gee Club in the early hours. It was a long day that started a bit rough. First the owner of the club had an emergency and could not get us the keys. So instead, she told us how to break into her club. With the help of the band and Pirate's climbing skills, we got in and got movine. Then when Ky forgot where she put several of our tapes of footage, we all had a panic attack. But we found them and although it took a lot of coordination, we got it all done. Thanks to the band for coming out in the morning after a concert the night before.
October 23, 2010 - Clubbing All Day Long
The El N' Gee Club in New London gave us permission to spend the day shooting our club scene in their establishment. We had 6 of our principal actors and a ton of extras on set. It was a long tough day as many of the principal actors had short schedules, and not everyone could be there at the same time. This made for a very hectic shot list and set ups. Thanks to Jacob for being able to move so fast and keep us on schedule. We were lucky enough to get CT band Waking Elliot on set and to let us use 3 of their songs in the film. They are all wonderful musicians and really nice and patient people. Kudos to Brandon who danced crazily for multiple takes without complaint.
October 17, 2010 - New Boss in Town
Today we got to spend a lot more time with actor Wendy Olafson, in the role of Gwen. In one scene we had Chris and Gio running around. In another, Wendy and Gio had an intense moment that both played off beautifully. All in all, it was a pretty smooth weekend.
October 16, 2010 - Typical Island Office Day
Converting Beacon Charter High School into an office took surprisingly less effort than you might think. We started the day with the employee harassment training and finished with Gio, Chris Ferreira, and John Ring's scene. Chris was great as the supportive and influential friend, and John's comedic timing as their boss Micky was right on the money. We got our lighting designer Jacob to agree to be a Z-Core employee and he rocked it!
October 10, 2010 - Eating and Drinking the Day Away
Today was a loooong day for the crew. In the morning, we had fun at Maggie's house in East Lyme filming the Aunt Alice scenes. Mary Ferrara did an awesome job and Tim got to try his hand at hair dressing. After a few hours of break, we headed back to Captain's, but this time to film there. Sarah and Gio both gave phenomenal performances during the fancy restaurant scene and Alex Lewis as the Waiter was almost too hilarious for words! Our other restaurant patrons seemed to have fun in the background, judging from the silly food art that Tim was creating on his plate.
October 3, 2010 - Quincy Quarries
These 3 fun (and 1 dramatic) scenes required a big change in scenery, so we spent the day at Quincy Quarries with 5 of our principal actors. As always, everyone brought their A-games and we even managed to have a little fun with the dramatic scene by giving Gio some additional actions. It was quite cold and windy, but we finished with excellent performances and some excellent backdrops to boot.
October 2, 2010 - Awkward and Emotional
Today we shot at a really cool old house in Montville, CT. We started our filming with a dinner scene with 6 of our principal actors. The scene was perfectly awkward and intense and everyone did a fantastic job letting their characters' personalities shine through. In the afternoon/evening we shot a very emotional scene. Our actors did an incredible job and had the crew in near or full-on tears by the end. It was an emotional day and the scenes are sure to be absolutely incredible! Sorry we can't show you any pics from this day...they'd be major spoilers.
September 28, 2010 - Late Night Grocery Shopping
Tonight we headed to Tri-Town Foods in East Lyme, where manager Ken let us film in his supermarket so that we could turn it into Shop Safe. Brandon, Sarah McLean, and Kevin did an awesome job in their roles and it was a fun scene to film. We really got to make the scene complete with the performances of Von Macabre, a friend from the Boston Zombie March, and one of Ky's professors, Alice Valentine.
September 26, 2010 - Z-Bar Today we filmed a few scenes at our favorite New London bar, Oasis. We started with a scene between Kevin and Sarah McLean, featuring our friend Aurora Grabill as a patron, and finished with a short sidewalk scene with Sarah Nicklin and Erin. In between, we all had a lot of laughs between the performances of Erin, Spencer, Matt d'Oliviera, and Kayte Klewin. Comedic timing was essential for today, and everyone nailed it! "Prep the puppies...Ahh, the mammories".
September 25, 2010 - Running Around in New London
Cast and crew was all over downtown New London today. We had a ton of locals come out to be Z-Core zombies for us and were very grateful to have use of the back dining room at Captain's Pizza as our home base. We shot many shorts scenes and our big introductory scene to the narrative to film, but managed to get everything we planned done with everyone's cooperation and patience.
September 18, 2010 - Fried After Burgerrrrrs
Somehow we managed to get all of our footage at Burgerrrrrs done in 2 days! We broke down and set up tonight much quicker than yesterday because we had figured out where all of our art and set pieces would go. We had several extras as customers and everyone was cracking up at 16-year old Siara Padilla's hilarious performance. Our principal actors worked very hard, especially Sarah who wasn't feeling well. After the weekend was over, everyone was exhausted but feeling satisfied with the amount of footage we were able to shoot in such a short period of time.
September 17, 2010 - Mmm...Burgerrrrrs
Our friends at Crown Pizza in Waterford, CT let us borrow their restaurant during the wee morning hours of this weekend and turn it into a fast food joint. The transformation took some time, but thanks to Maggie's awesome artwork and a lot of crew and cast members' assistance, Burgerrrrrs was looking great! Because of the odd hours, energy was a bit low, but as soon as we started getting some shots done, everyone was feeling better.
September 12, 2010 - Barrier Wall Mania
Today was a long day where we needed many of our principal actors, a lot of extras, and plenty of crew members. Getting makeup on the several extras took quite a while, but filming went smoothly. We shot these scenes at Fort Wetherill in Jamestown, RI, which made for an excellent barrier wall. After the extras left, we shot a nice scene with Sarah and Kevin. We rushed off to Quincy to try to shoot another scene, but gave up for the day when we realized the lighting just wasn't going to work.
August 23, 2010 - A Quickie
Today was a quick and painless day at Daniel's house in Cranston. Sarah did a lot of crying for the scene and Erin was so passionate opening a door that she put a hole in Daniel's bedroom wall.
August 22, 2010 - Z-Core Commercial
Thanks to our friend Jason McCormick, we were able to secure some lab space at Central Connecticut State University for our Z-Core Commercial. This fun day became a family affair when we got all the Boudreaus to act in the scene. Using a real lab meant we had to be extra careful while in the space and cleaning up afterwards, but from the way the footage turned out, it was totally worth it!
August 21, 2010 - Emily's House
Spencer's Grandpa was gracious enough to let us use his house and yard to film our 8 "Emily's house" scenes. For once, Kevin had a relatively easy day. Sarah, Erin, Ken, and Gio had some running around to do. Later on Mary had a fun time with a bowl of spaghetti and we saw some powerful performances by Sarah and Gio.
August 7th, 2010 - Dirt Road
Back at it again. Today involved more talented extras and some awesome stunt driving by Tom. Fun stuff. Though Kevin's rock throwing was a bit dangerous. :-P
August 1st, 2010 - A Big Scene
Today was a tough one. We had to organize and shoot a large sequence in a field at Spencer's parent's house in Waterford, CT. With a ton of extras, guns and choreography, this day was a huge challenge. Nice work by all.
July 31st, 2010 - First Day of Principal Photography
After a break of a month to raise more money, we began principal photography on the film. Today was nice and easy. A simple shot of a Jeep in a field. It was a relaxing day with nice weather and awesome footage. There at the beginning, was Kevin, Sammi and Cat.
June 27th, 2010 - Farm Kitchen, Barn and Cheep Zees
After a really long day on Saturday, we figured why not suffer a really hot day on Sunday? We shot the Old Lady Hanson kitchen scene with Amy Thompson, our Jeb scene with Bernie Larrivee and then took off to shoot our Cheep Zees commercial at Rachel's family's house in Cranston. More great actors and crew, all pushing hard to help us. Great stuff.
June 26th, 2010 - Apartment, News Room, Tara T and Web Cam Response
Today was a really long and exhausting day for the crew. We shot 4 different scenes in 3 different location in 2 States in 1 day. We started off at 3am leaving for Northern Mass. We shot at Laura Putnam's beautiful house with actor Dennis Hurley. A great scene and a lot of fun. Thanks to our crew of Stephen, Tom, Ky, Kevin and Marina and our really cool extras. Next was off to Haverhill to shoot our News promo and Tara T promo. A lot of fun and a lot of blood. Then we drove all the way back to Rhode Island to shoot the web cam response video. An exhausting day, but some fantastic footage.
June 20th, 2010 - First Official Day of Shooting
Today we started shooting and man was it a great day! Our crew of Ky, Tom, Stephen, Kevin and myself tackled four locations in one day. We started off out in an abandoned field shooting news footage, then off to Ky's house to shoot our web cam girl. Next we shot our first hospital scene and then headed to another hospital to shoot our second. As soon as we finishing the last shot of the day with Rachel Nadeau, no lie, fireworks went off in the neighborhood we were in. A good omen to what will prove to be an amazing film!
